With the help of so many people in our community and at Peet, our first ever 1,000 Acts of Kindness Day on Monday, October 6 was a huge success! Our students were able to complete 2,226 acts of kindness in the following ways:
*Kindness to Self - self affirmation SMACK cards
*Kindness to Peers - Peer cirlcles & positive notes on a poster for Peers that will be posted in the halls of Peet Jr High
*Kindness to Teachers - positive emails thanking past/present teachers or staff members who have positivly impacted students lives & positive notes on Staff poster that will be posted in the Peet staff lounge
*Kindness to Adult/Parent - Gratitude cards written to an adult in students lives
*Kindness to Community - 9th grade outreach to Aldrich, Cedar Heights, Orchard Hill and Southdale Elementary Schools (playing at recess, gym class, reading to students, etc); 9th Chorus outreach at the Deery Suites - Western Home; "CHOOSE KIND" fence messages facing Seerley Blvd & University Avenue; Packing 33 Love Boxes for foster families in the Cedar Valley
*Kindness to World - Popcorn & MnM baggies w/ notes to the staff and clients of North Star Community Services; tie blankets for dogs & cats at the Cedar Valley Humane Society; cleaning up the Peet grounds
