2019 State Cross Country Pep Bus Sign-Up

The bus will be free for 9th-12th XC members. If not a XC member, the cost is $6.00 - 7th - 12th grade. Adults are welcome to sign up also. This week we completed our comission project for the 7th grade jazz band. The Peet JH Band parents commissioned a new work for the Peet JH 7th grade Jazz Band, and yesterday the students got to work with the composer, Steve Shanley, on the original work Calypso Angelical. The goal of the Farm to School program is to bring healthy food from local farms to school children and teach them about the path from farm to fork through taste-testing and cross-age teaching. Mrs. Hoop, the mother of a former Peet student (Sofia Munoz) was generous enough to offer an unused item that she acquired with the intent of using it to create a small business. Since her plans to use the kiln never came to fruition, she decided to offer the kiln to the district for use by the school. POWWER wants to thank everyone for their wonderful support of all of the fundraisers we have had this year and previous years!This month we made great strides in our goal to purchase swings.  Last night at the Pizza Ranch fundraiser we raised $917.12.  Our Hurts Donut Fundraiser raised $1,333.50  We have raised $5,169.62 of our $40,000 swing goal so far this year. Thank you again, we appreciate your support!

30 Students from the Cedar Falls Schools Orchestra Program were accepted into the NEISTA Honors Orchestra Festival, held on Saturday, January 25th, in Waverly, IA.  Most students were in 8-12th grade, but one student represented Orchard Hill. Flag Raising Tradition Continues

Math Counts

On February 10th, eleven students from Peet went to the Regional MathCounts Competition at Hawkeye.  The Peet Team placed 4th out of over 15 schools and Cory Roth and Alexandra Somodi individually earned spots in the top 10 out of over 100 students.  In the final countdown round, the top ten students compete head to head to decide who will advance to the state competition.  Cory finished second overall and Alexandra finished 6th.  Both, Cory and Alexandra will advance to the State MathCoun [...]

Kindness in Chalk Day

On Oct 11th Cedar Heights celebrated 'Kindness in Chalk' day.  Student council sponsored this day to promote kindness and remind students of our expectations at Cedar Heights.  We decorated the front sidewalks with many uplifting and positive messages to greet the students as they came in.  We also provided chalk for each grade level so students could add their own messages to the rest of the sidewalks during recess time.

Lincoln Gardens Donate to the Food Bank!

Our Lincoln gardens have been productive this summer! Due to a combination of warm weather and daily watering, we are seeing a large yield. Our green beans were ready to be picked and one of our valued Lincoln families volunteered to help pick them. As we didn't want to waste this fresh produce with our students enjoying summer break, these helpers donated 18 pounds of green beans to the Food Bank! Wow! This is a true win-win for our community and school!
