Back-to-School Night: Wednesday, August 20 - 3:30-5:00pm
Parents & Students, you are cordially invited to attend Peet Junior High’s “Back-to-School Night”, Wednesday, August 20 from 3:30 – 5:00pm. This will be an open-house style event (drop-in). Students will be able to pick up their schedules, ID cards, and Chromebooks. Locker information will be printed on student schedules, and students will have an opportunity to organize their lockers. Teachers will be available in their rooms for students and parents, and will share information about course content and class expectations. You will be free to ask questions you might have. There will be PowerSchool Parent Portal help in the Media Center throughout the evening.
Peet PATT (Parents and Teachers Together) will also be at Back-to-School Night with sign-up forms and collecting the $10.00 (optional) membership donation. Click HERE to sign-up to volunteer for the 2025-26 school year and click HERE to donate online to the Peet PATT group.

First Day of School: Monday, Aug 25, 2025
The first day of school will be Monday, August 25.
As a reminder, every Monday, classes will run from 9:30am-3:00pm.
Bus riders: students will ride the normal Monday bus schedule if students plan to ride the bus on the first day of school.

8:30 - Front Doors Open for students who ride the bus or eat breakfast

9:15 - Arrival time for students who do not ride the bus and do not eat breakfast

9:20 - Students are able to enter the hallways to report to their lockers before classes start

9:30 - All students report to period 1 and will go through a Monday bell schedule for classes.

3:00 - All student dismissed

Changes to this schedule throughout the school year will be communicated to students via email and posted on Schoology.

Students who take classes at CFHS will report to classes at the high school on the first day of school. They will need to follow the High School Monday Bus times.

Student Drop-Off
7:35am (Tuesday-Friday) - for students who plan to eat breakfast
7:50am-8:00am (Tuesday-Friday)
9:05am (Monday) - for students who plan to eat breakfast
9:20am-9:30am (Monday)

3:00pm-3:15pm (Monday-Friday)
Lockers
All students will be assigned an academic locker where students will be expected to keep their backpacks in throughout the school day. Students will be able to access their locker during passing time in between periods to grab any class materials they will need. Students will also be assigned a PE locker and a music locker (if applicable).
Lunch Shifts
We will have 3 lunch shifts for the 2025-26 school year. Attached are the lunch shifts for this school year. Students will eat lunch during their 4th period class. Example: If your student has Mrs. Beneke for period 4, they will eat “C” lunch.
School Pictures
Don’t forget school pictures will take place on Tuesday, August 26 (B day) & Wednesday, August 27 (A day) in PE classes. Every student will have their photo taken regardless of purchase, for school records, ID cards and yearbooks. HR Imaging will mail picture order forms to student homes or you can order online. Busing Questions
2025-26 Bus routes will be posted on the Transportation website prior to the first day of school. The bus lists will be sorted by school name, student grade and student ID#. Once the student ID# is identified, it will list the bus number, bus stop and bus pick up time assigned. Please allow 5 minutes either way of the times shown for the bus stop.
If you have questions regarding school busing to and from school, please call the bus garage at (319)553-2458.
This transportation request FORM must be filled-out for any student who will need busing for the 2025-26 school year. This form will also be accessible through the transportation website. Transportation is free for junior high students (7-9) that live more than two miles from their resident school. These distances are determined by the Cedar Falls Transportation Department. Students who live under 2 miles will be paying riders. Students can purchase a bus pass with the Peet Bookkeeper at the beginning of each month. Monthly bus fees can be found on the transportation website.
Parents/Guardians of open enrolled students are responsible for their student(s) transportation.
Parent/Guardian of Rules Exception students are responsible for their student(s) transportation.
After School Activity Bus #20 & #44

Bus #20 will bring students to Holmes for Cross Country.

Bus #44 will bring students to the high school for after school activities.
Supply List
A list of recommended school supplies has been added to our Peet Website. In addition, many local stores have the supply list posted for your reference. Teachers will also share specific needs on the first day of classes.
Vaccination Reminder for 7th graders
Reminder to parents: All incoming 7th grade students must have the 1st dose of Meningitis vaccination before they are allowed to start school. They are also required to get the Tdap shot. Please visit with your students' medical provider as soon as possible to make sure you have time to get them in. If you don't have a medical provider please email Kerri Clausman the Peet Junior High School nurse kerri.clausman@cfschools.org
9th Grade Dental Forms
All 9th grade students will need to turn-in a dental screening form within the first 60 days of school. Forms can be found at this link: DENTAL FORM, or by calling your dentist and asking them to fax or email a copy of your students "Iowa Department of Public Health Certificate of Dental Screening" from their last dental visit. Forms can be emailed to: betsy.schmitz@cfschools.org, kerri.clausman@cfschools.org, faxed to Peet at 319-483-6467 or turned into the health office once school has started.
Early Dismissal Days - Sack Lunch Order Form… Order NOW!
Peet will have early dismissal on the following days. Classes will run from 8:00am until 11:15am. Sack lunches can be ordered on the following link for those days. If a lunch is ordered for your student, they will pick it up in the cafeteria before dismissal. Lunch Order Form for Early Dismissals
