Good morning Peet Junior High!  This is Zaiah Meyer with this morning’s announcements.


Today is Thursday, February 18th a B Day.


Today’s Black History Month highlight is Ray Charles. Ray Charles was a pioneer of soul music, integrating R&B, gospel, pop and country to create hits like "Unchain My Heart," "Hit the Road Jack" and "Georgia on My Mind."

Ray Charles was a legendary musician who pioneered the genre of soul music during the 1950s. Often called the "Father of Soul," Charles combined blues, gospel and jazz to create groundbreaking hits such as "Unchain My Heart," "Hit the Road Jack" and "Georgia on My Mind." He died in 2004, leaving a lasting impression on contemporary music.


Students who are interested in purchasing a Yearbook for the 2020-21 school year can do so now at the lunch window with Mrs. Baron. Yearbooks are $15. The last day to purchase a yearbook is March 31. See Mrs. Cahill in the library with questions!


Congratulations to Nathan Standing and Casey Tran. You are the winners of this week's prizes for Black History Month Bingo. Please stop by the library sometime today to pick out your prize. Next week is the last week for Bingo, so be sure to participate if you're interested!

 

Today’s lunch will be: Chicken Alfredo with a Twisted Garlic Breadstick or Cheese French Bread Pizza, Cherry Tomatoes, Mandarin Oranges and Apple Slices.
