8th grade students: make sure you know how to log-in to your student portal through PowerSchool as counselors will be in Science classrooms next Monday, March 2nd. You will need to be able to log-in to schedule for your 9th grade classes. If you are not sure how or can't log in, please stop in the media center before we schedule on Monday!
Any 7th and 8th grade boys interested in going out for Track and Field this year will have an informational meeting in Mr. Grothoff's room (room 14) before school next Tuesday, March 3rd and Thursday, March 5th. Both meetings will be at 7:40am before school. You only need to attend one of these. Bring your chromebook.
Any 9th grade girls interested in playing tennis this spring, please get your t-shirt and player information card and dues turned into the office in an envelope marked Cedar Falls Women's Tennis by Thursday, February 27 by 3:00pm. All information and forms are located on the team website posted on the 9th Grade Group on Schoology, and found under Forms & Handouts. To participate in the first day of practice, you also must have completed your physical and code of conduct form. Thank you and we are looking forward to an amazing season!
The Peet JH Variety Show is just around the corner on Friday and Saturday March 6th and 7th. Tickets are on sale now and are available for purchase before school. Tickets are $6 for all shows. There are $2 student tickets available for the Saturday 2:00pm show for all K-12 students. We have three shows: Friday March 6th at 7:00pm, and Saturday March 7th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Each show will include Kiwanis kettle corn, sweet treats, and water at intermission! Students have been hard at work preparing their acts and have a great show planned for you!
Check out the Library window for a quiz on Black History Month. Match the picture of a person from history with their biography, and turn in your answers for a chance at a prize! Mrs. Miller has papers for your answers in the library. Good Luck!
Today’s black history month spotlight is on Jean-Michael Basquiat. He was a neo-expressionist. Some of his notable accomplishments include being the youngest artist to display work at the Kestner-Gesellschaft gallery and selling one of his paintings for almost $110.5 million.
Today’s lunch will be: French Toast Sticks with Sausage, Bacon & Cheese Breakfast Pizza, Cheeseburger, Hashbrown Patty, Cauliflower, Peaches, and Strawberries.
