Today’s black history month spotlight is on 15 year old Claudette Colvin. Most people think of Rosa Parks as the first person to refuse to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. But she wasn’t! On March 22, 1955, Claudette was fed up with the Jim Crow laws and refused to move to the back of the bus. She was arrested and thrown in jail. So why did Rosa Parks go down in history as a woman who refused to give up her seat? Because Claudette was a teenager. The NCAAP believed Rosa Parks would be a better face for the civil rights movement because she was more well known and respected.

Today’s lunch will be: Chicken Sandwich, Popcorn Shrimp, Baked Beans, Veggie Bar, Apricots, & Raisels.

Happy birthday this weekend to: Bryce A Jones, Kinzie Manatt, & Ben Brogan!
