Today’s black history month spotlight is on Maya Angelou., born on April 4, 1928. Angelou was an American poet, author, and civil rights activist. She is best known for her poetry and her autobiography entitled I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. Maya Angelou is the first African American woman to write a nonfiction best seller. Here’s an awesome Maya Angelou quote to inspire you today: “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”
