A reminder, any 8th Grade Boys Basketball Player who has not turned in his jersey should put both practice and game jerseys into the PE laundry cart for cleaning ASAP.

Cedar Falls Men’s Basketball team will be playing Sioux City, East on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 pm at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.We will have a Pep Bus available for any interested 9th grade student.  It will leave the high school at 3:45 on March 5.  Cost is $16.00, which includes the game ticket that will be handed out on the pep bus.  Deadline to sign-up and pay is next Tuesday, March 5 at 12:15 pm. Pay Mrs. Hoffman at the lunch window before the deadline.  The sign-up can be found on the Peet website, click on the blog post for the link.

If the Tigers win on Tuesday, they will play on Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 pm in Des Moines.  We will offer a Pep Bus for that game also. Cost is $16.00 which will include the cost of the game ticket.  That bus will leave CFHS at 3:45 pm.

Students are reminded that cell phones are to be used only at lunch time and during passing periods.  Cell phones are not to be used outside of the classroom during the class period. See Mr. Boevers or Mr. Urbanek if you have questions.

8th & 9th Graders interested in cheering on the CF Competition team, there will be a mandatory meeting on Saturday, March 2nd at 10am in the CFHS Cafeteria. Tryouts will be Saturday, March 9th at the CFHS Gym. Please see the office for informational flyer.

Today’s black history month spotlight is on Fred Hampton. He was an activist. Some of his notable accomplishments include creating free initiatives such as a children’s breakfast program and health clinics and encouraging African Americans to pursue their education.
