Halloween Celebrations! Please carefully read these details regarding Halloween:
Costume Guidelines:
-
Preschool – 4th Grade students are invited to wear school-appropriate costumes. With the exception of Preschool, students in grades Kindergarten through 4th will be allowed to put on costumes before our parade and should not come to school wearing costumes.
-
Our 5th and 6th Grade students will not wear costumes.
-
Safety and comfort Requirements: Costumes must allow students to walk independently and navigate stairs safely. Please avoid costumes that may frighten others, and do not send fake weapons or blood.
Schedule:
-
Classroom Parties: All classrooms will host Halloween celebrations beginning at approximately 2:00 PM. If you do not celebrate Halloween, please communicate with your child's teacher and we will have an alternate activity.
-
Costume Parade: The parade will begin at 2:45 going through each classroom, with families invited to watch the grand finale outdoors. Our route will include our east playground and the drop off lane along 8th Street. In the event of rain, we will move families indoors to our Gym.
Early Pickup: Following the parade, families may go directly to individual classrooms if they wish to pick up students early. You will need to sign out with our teaching staff, not the office.
Fall Conferences - We are excited to welcome our families and students for conferences on Monday, November 2nd from 4:00-8:00 PM and Thursday, November 5th from 1:00-8:00 PM. We will hold Family/Teacher conferences to allow families more time to speak with our staff. We hope to have volunteers available in each hallway to allow for private conversations, if needed. We will plan to meet face to face with families, if you would like to meet virtually, please communicate with our teaching staff. Please use these directions to sign up beginning October 16th, our conference scheduler will close on October 30th. Morning Drop Off Needs - thank you for reading carefully to ensure we are safe and efficient during drop off each morning. Please pull up as far as possible before dropping off. Also, please help our students exit cars quickly and use the sidewalks to walk towards the building or the cross walk to come to the building. Please do not allow our students to cross the traffic! Last, please take care of all hugs and high fives before coming to school as this slows everything down during drop off. Thank you!
Winter Gear (https://tinyurl.com/tnv7549a) - does your family need help with winter gear? We hope cold weather doesn’t arrive for a long time and we have a very generous organization that helps us help our families with needed gear. Yes, we go outside as much as possible during the cold weather months to enjoy fresh air! If you would like assistance, please complete the link for each member of your family. Thank you!

Growing Our Tiger Ten Together!
We are excited to kick off the school year by teaching our students The Tiger Ten—10 skills that help children be successful at school and in life. These skills help children make good choices, get along with others, handle challenges, solve problems, and become confident, independent learners. Families can help by encouraging children to keep trying when something is hard, talk about their feelings and ideas, work through problems, learn from mistakes, and think about what they can do differently next time. When we use the same language at home and at school, we help our students see that these skills are important everywhere!
Thank you for your support! We are looking forward to seeing you again next week!
Respectfully,
Ralph Bryant
