Lincoln Weekly Announcements 2020-09-18

Lincoln Families - Thank you for a full week of learning!

A few upcoming dates:

9.28 - School Picture Day

Safety Reminders:

Information To Support Student Health - please carefully look over these graphics included in our district newsletter to help to support the health of our students and staff:

Center for Disease Control Next Steps

Guidance for Close Contact Exposure

Face Coverings - please remember that students will be required to have a face covering or a shield while at school. The latest guidance from Black Hawk County Public Health states that either can be worn. It also states that if a staff or student plans to work in close proximity with others and are wearing a shield, they should plan to also wear a mask underneath. We appreciate your help discussing this and practicing at home daily. Our most recent Return To Learn family frequently asked questions document can be found here.

Visitors and Volunteers - to support safety, we will not be able to allow visitors or volunteers to enter our classrooms. We would like to encourage siblings to separate at the door and younger children begin practicing walking to their rooms on their own. We will continue to have adults in the hallway to help. In addition, if you come to the building to pick up your child, you can enter the office or call and we will walk the student outside to our visitor parking spots.

Arrival And Dismissal - we are working to help our students safely enter and leave the building. In the morning, we will ask students to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45. Please do not come before 8:30. They will report to their classrooms. At the end of the day, we will dismiss students by grade to the bus. Following this, we will dismiss students who are picked up or walk home. Our staff will walk students to the door. There will be no after school activities so we will expect students to leave school immediately following dismissal. Thank you for your patience as we work to support student safety each morning and afternoon.

Safety Procedures for the Homecoming Football Game - We are fortunate to have a partnership with UNI that allows us to continue to host our football games in the Dome. With this partnership, we have provided UNI assurances for how we will meet their expectations and provide the safest possible environment. Our goal is to communicate our assurances so we can continue to allow our fans the opportunity to attend the events of our student-athletes in-person. It is critical that we improve upon following these guidelines. We are also fortunate to have Channel 15 televise our games in the event these assurances aren’t comfortable for you.

  • Spectators will sit every third row, starting at row three. This will be clearly marked.

  • The junior high and high school student sections must have an open seat in between every student.

    • Elementary students must enter and stay with an adult at all times. Elementary students without an adult accompanying them during the game will be asked to leave with the adult who brought the student.

    • All students are expected to stay in the stands. Using the restroom and concessions should be limited and walking around will not be allowed.

  • All fans - household members may sit together in pods but we must leave at least four seats open to the left and right, separating household pods. When seated in your pod, masks may be removed to eat and drink only.

  • All spectators must wear masks at all times. This is not an option. We refuse to allow the actions of a few to create negative outcomes for the larger population. If someone is not wearing a mask over the mouth and nose, they will be asked to leave. If you are not comfortable wearing a mask, Channel 15 is a fantastic option.

Thank you for supporting the Tigers and thank you for your commitment to our community!

2019-2020 Yearbooks - You may purchase one in our office for $15.
