Jeremy Jones Honored as 2022 Iowa Middle School Principal of the Year
Tuesday, March 24th was a peculiar day for Holmes staff, as they were greeted by Mr. Jones wearing a tie, which is a rare occurence in this building. Some teachers were concerned - was someone important visiting the building? Was there a new necktie dress code? Quickly, though, fears were alleviated when staff learned that Jeremy Jones was only dressed up for his interview with the School Administrators of Iowa (SAI), who notified him that he has been honored as the 2022 Iowa Middle School Principal of the Year.
SAI Executive Director Roark Horn commented on the selection, “Of his many great qualities, Jeremy’s ability to create and sustain a building culture of inclusiveness and innovation really stands out. He knows how to inspire everyone he encounters and makes sure that those individuals’ gifts add up to collective excellence.”
The staff at Holmes Junior High echo Horn's sentiments and can only add that Mr. Jones creates an atmosphere that elevates everyone around him and a workplace that is positive and fun to come into each and every day.
A committee of Iowa middle level principals selected Jones, and he will be recognized at the association’s Annual Conference in August. Congratulations, Mr. Jones!
