Holmes Orchestra Students Participate in Kennedy Orchestra

On March 7th, a talented group of students from Peet, Holmes, and Orchard Hill all participated in the Kennedy Honors Orchestra in Cedar Rapids, IA. Of the 200 students gathered from over 40 schools, 19 of them were representing Cedar Falls Schools.

These students participated in the Gold Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra. Holmes Jr. High’s very own Orchestra teacher, Kim Tura, conducted the Green Orchestra.

We give our highest congratulations to all the students who participated and showed off their musical chops. Many of the Holmes students were nominated for first chair honors, including Summer Lim, who took the Concertmaster Seat (Gold Orchestra); Drew Ludeman, who was named first-chair cello (Gold Orchestra); Julia Magee, who was named first-chair second violin (Chamber Orchestra); and Mason Munnik, who was named second chair viola (Chamber Orchestra).

We would like to thank the following students for their great preparation for this event as well as their fantastic representation of Holmes Jr. High:
