Holmes Battle of the Books team, The Bright Lights, placed second overall today at the IHSBOB-Iowa High School Battle of the Books. This competition is put on every year by the Iowa Council of Teachers of English. Eight Holmes students were selected to participate in Northeast Iowa Honor Choir. They will participate in a day of workshops and preparation with a guest conductor and then perform in a concert in the evening. Spring conferences are just around the corner. Mark your calendars for your Holmes Junior High conferences: Tuesday March 10 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday March 12 from 12:30-7:00 p.m. Holmes will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. on March 12 and there is no school on Friday March 13. Spring Break is the following week from March 16-20.
