Pack the Bus for Hope Lodge!

PACK THE BUS 2019

Cedar Heights is teaming up with the American Cancer Society for PACK THE BUS!!!   We are looking to help out cancer patients who will be receiving treatment at The Hope Lodge in Iowa City.  The 6th grade will be heading up this service project. Each week they will collect items from all the classes and count them for a little “friendly competition” among the entire school.  There will be a leaderboard displaying the top 3 classes which will be updated on Thursday of each week.  Our goal is to pack Mr. Strassburg’s bus as many times as we can. Items will then be delivered to the American Cancer Society.  They will take all items collected from the Cedar Valley and load a school bus and deliver them to the Hope Lodge in Iowa City!!!

The winning class will get to choose from a handful of unique incentives that Mr. Strassburg is excited to participate in.

The idea of helping out others in need is the true objective of this service project.

Pack the Bus will start Monday, October 14th and we will have until Friday, October 25th to collect the items mentioned on the flyer.  We will have a team of 6th graders pick up items on Wednesday, and Friday starting the week of October 14th. We will have 2 full weeks to collect items for the Hope Lodge in Iowa City.  Make sure your child brings the items to their homeroom so they can be counted towards their class total.

Items the Hope Lodge are looking for: garbage bags 13 gal with drawstrings, postage stamps, non-perishable food items, styrofoam or paper cups for beverages on the go, paper towels, dishwasher tabs or laundry pods, stove top cleaner, and gift cards for gas or local restaurants

Thanks,

Cedar Heights 6th Grade Team
