Student Life Cedar Falls High School

Announcements: Monday, August 26, 2019 A Day

The 2019 yearbooks are available now for pick up every day in the Tiger's Den before school through 4th period. If you did not order a book last year and would like one, we do have a limited number of extras available for $60. See Mr. Winkel in room 208 for details.

Also, seniors, be sure to be planning your senior pictures. The deadline for submission is the last day before Thanksgiving break. If pictures are not submitted by that time, the yearbook will use school pictures from the junior year instead. All the picture requirement details are posted on the Tiger Hi-Line website under the "Contact" link at the top of the page. If anyone needs help with getting a senior picture, yearbook staff can assist at no charge. Again, see Mr. Winkel for details.

Cedar Falls High School Drama Auditions for Peter and the Star Catcher will be Tuesday, September 3 after school from 3:15 to 6:00 in the theater. Callbacks will be Wednesday (9-4). Additional information about scripts, calendar expectations, and audition or tech forms can be found on the Schoology Fall-Spring 2019-20 Drama group under resources. See Ms. Rathe in Room 207 if you have additional questions.

Congratulations are most certainly in order for, juniors, Natalie DeGabriele and Clare Williams. Last year, as sophomores in English 10A, each student enrolled in the course was assigned to enter the prestigious 2019 Paul Engle: Glory of the Senses Essay Contest from the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature. They represented Cedar Falls High School proudly with Natalie winning the grand prize: a free freshman year of college at the University of Iowa if she chooses to attend. The University of Iowa (and its famed Iowa Writer's Workshop) is known as one of if not the foremost writing institutions in the world. Clare was runner-up winning a $500 prize. A ceremony will be held in their honor at the University of Iowa. More information will be communicated in the future. If you'd like more information about the contest, see http://www.iowacityofliterature.org/paul-engle-essay-contest/.

Follow the Tigers: Sophomore Volleyball tournament will begin at 4:15 pm at CFHS.
