A representative from schools will be here this week to speak with interested students: Central College - Today at 10:45; Luther College - Wednesday, Oct 3rd at 9:40; University of Northern Iowa - Thursday, Oct 4th at 9:40; Iowa State University - Friday, Oct. 5th at 12:30. Interested students may sign up in the counseling office or through Schoology.

IT IS IOWA COLLEGE APPLICATION WEEK AT CFHS! STUDENTS WHO SIGNED UP FOR IOWA PRIVATE COLLEGES AND OUT OF STATE COLLEGES WILL BE INVITED TO A PRESENTATION BY WARTBURG COLLEGE DURING 5TH HOUR TODAY. WE WILL THEN GO TO THE LIBRARY AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION AND YOUR FSA ID. ON TUESDAY, STUDENTS WHO SIGNED UP FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE WILL BE INVITED TO A PRESENTATION BY HAWKEYE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DURING 5TH HOUR. WE WILL THEN GO TO THE LIBRARY AND FILL OUT APPLICATIONS! PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY! YOU WILL NEED YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND CREDIT CARD IF THE APPLICATION HAS A FEE.

Any students interested in democratic candidates running for the upcoming elections for office on November 6th - Dave Williams, who is running for Iowa House District 60, is coming to the High School this Friday, October 5th to answer questions about where he stands on issues and to inform students about voting. Meet us in Room 255 at 11:25 and bring your questions!

The Young lawyer’s Division of the Iowa State Bar Association each year offers the Know Your Constitution program for high school students. This open-book quiz and free-response essay allows Iowa students to test their knowledge and understanding of our nation’s founding document. Students who are selected as finalists are entered into a drawing for a free trip to Washington DC. Interested students should contact their Social Studies teacher or Ms. Lake in room 255 for materials!

Junior leadership: We will have a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2nd shift Power Hour in Room 160, to discuss the Food Drive and our plans/responsibilities for that. Please plan to attend!
