The Cedar Falls Lions Club is now accepting nominations for the 2021-22 Cedar Falls Outstanding Educator Award. Each year, the Lions Club honors an educator from the community who goes above and beyond to create opportunities that foster student growth, embodies civic action and engages others in service, and inspires and promotes a spirit of life-long learning. A candidate for this award must be a full-time practicing pre-K-12 teacher or administrator in the Cedar Falls Community School District, Valley Lutheran School, or St. Patrick Catholic School. Please click this link to nominate a deserving staff member!
Note from the Health Office: Parents and Guardians of our Lincoln students, Our Cedar Falls School District Medication Policy says that all medications should be brought to the Health Office by an adult. This is for the safety of all of our kids. Sometimes kids are pressured to "share" pills and want to be "nice" and it can be a difficult and unsafe situation. Please send medications to school with a trusted adult. It does not have to be a parent. Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe! Lori Rasmusson and Brianna Schenkelberg, Lincoln School Nurses
Opportunities For Students - Are you beginning to think about opportunities for your children for summer? Please remember to check out our district fliers! Also, please consider opportunities from the Cedar Falls Rec!
General Reminders
Face Coverings - we encourage the continued use of face coverings at school. Our goal is to keep everyone in our school learning! Thank you for helping keep all members of our school community safe!
Arrival And Dismissal - we are working to help our students safely enter and leave the building. In the morning, we will ask students to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45. They will report to their classrooms. At the end of the day, we will first dismiss students by grade who ride the bus. Following this, we will dismiss students who are picked up or walk home. Our staff will walk students to the door. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will dismiss at their outside classroom doors, second grade will dismiss onto the east playground, third grade will also dismiss onto the east playground, fourth grade will dismiss using our main entrance doors on 8th street and 5th and 6th grade will dismiss using our 7th street doors. We appreciate families making and following consistent after school plans. Thank you for helping us support safe morning arrivals and afternoon dismissals!
Snacks and Birthday Treats - We are proud to be a Blue Zones school and encourage healthy choices when students bring food for their daily snack. In addition, to support safety this school year when celebrating birthdays, we will ask for families to bring prepackaged items to minimize handling. Thank you!
See you next week!
