Lincoln Weekly Announcements 2020-11-24

Lincoln Families - Thank you for your support this week with the change to virtual learning! We will continue to learn virtually on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd. 


A few upcoming dates:

11.25-11.27 - Happy Thanksgiving, No School!

11.30, 12.1, 12.2 - Required online learning for all students (See below)

12.14 - PALS meeting at 7 PM

12.23-1.1 - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, No School!


Safety Reminders: 

We would appreciate having all families wear face masks when dropping off or picking up from school. In addition, please help our students keep them on until you leave our school and school grounds. Thank you!


Additional Announcements:

Please continue to save and collect Hy-Vee receipts! We are able to turn these in and receive a check that Lincoln PALS (Parents and Lincoln School) uses to support our students and staff!  Please drop them off at the Lincoln Office OR at 804 West 13th Street. Thank you!


Virtual Learning - We will continue to engage in virtual learning on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd. We will do our best to support our students and their families during this time! Please know we understand families have many items to manage. Here are a few reminders to help support our students in their continued learning:


Schedule - Student attendance is mandatory. This schedule will be used for all of our students and students will meet with their teachers via Zoom:

8:45-9:15 - Morning Meeting and attendance (Student attendance is required for all five days)

9:15-10:15 - Reading/Writing 

10:15-10:30 - Break

10:30-11:30 - Math

11:30-12:00 - Science, Social Studies or Intervention

Afternoon - Asynchronous Specials (Video link available starting on Monday, 11/30), support for individual students (Special Education, English language support, Title or Reading as well as Band and Orchestra lessons)


Here is a list of all of the teacher Zoom links to allow our students to join live instruction. These will also be shared with our students via Seesaw or Google Classroom.


Devices - Please help our students care for these devices to avoid potential repairs or charges. While you are away from school, if you have difficulty with your devices, please contact our help line at 319.553.3003 or email (homesupport2020@cfschools.org). In addition, here are a few helpful guides to connect the iPad or Chromebooks to the internet and sign in.


Learning Spaces - Thank you for continuing to help our students find a consistent space to learn in your home. Please consider areas free of distractions that will allow them to join their class and best focus on their learning.


School meals will still be accessible to families during virtual learning. Families must place their order two days in advance, using this link. Meals, which will include breakfast and lunch, can be picked up between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at North Cedar Elementary, Holmes Junior High, or Peet Junior High. 


Please continue to contact the school if your student is ill or has been exposed or experiencing COVID related symptoms. We will be available in the office from 8:15-4:15 each work day.
