Safety Reminders:

Face Coverings - please remember that students will be required to have a face covering at school. Our Governor made changes to exposure procedures this week. If a student is exposed to a positive case in a community setting such as school and both people are properly wearing masks, the exposed individual would not need to quarantine. This will only apply to students who are wearing masks, not face shields. Our most recent Return To Learn family frequently asked questions document can be found here.

Visitors and Volunteers - to support safety, we will not be able to allow visitors or volunteers to enter our classrooms. We will continue to have adults in the hallway to help our students each morning. In addition, if you come to the building to pick up your child, you can enter the office or call and we will walk the student outside to our visitor parking spots.

Arrival And Dismissal - we are working to help our students safely enter and leave the building. In the morning, we ask students to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45. Please do not come before 8:30. They will report to their classrooms. At the end of the day, we will dismiss students by grade to the bus. Following this, we will dismiss students who are picked up or walk home. Our staff will walk students to the door. There will be no after school activities so we will expect students to leave school immediately following dismissal. Thank you for your patience as we work to support student safety each morning and afternoon.

Additional Announcements:

Specials Plan For Our Next Cycle - Starting on Friday, November 6th, our fifth, fourth and first grade students will attend Specials (Art, Music, PE and Media) outside of the classroom. In addition, Kindergarten, second and third grade will eat in our Cafeteria.

Halloween - We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th! We invite our Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade students to wear costumes to school. This is encouraged, but not required. Our 5th and 6th grade students will not dress in costumes. Please support all students by not including costumes that will scare others, including fake weapons or blood. Due to COVID-19, students will still need to wear a face covering and we will not be able to have our annual parade this school year. Each class will have a short party instead!

Noon Dismissal on October 30th - we will dismiss at noon on Friday, October 30th. We will offer a sack lunch before dismissal.

We are looking forward to meeting with you for Conferences on November 10th and 12th! The parent window to schedule conferences opens on Friday, October 23rd and will remain open through November  6th. Please see the parent instructions for step by step directions for scheduling. If you need help, please contact our office and we are happy to help!

Adventure Awaits! Our Virtual Book Starts on November 2nd! Our book fair is coming! This year our book fair is online. You can shop online from November 2nd through the 12th and your books will ship to Lincoln for free! We are hoping to get the books before Thanksgiving break, if not it will be right after. If you buy books to give as gifts there is a spot to indicate that during checkout. Feel free to share the link for our fair with family and friends - books make great holiday gifts!

All proceeds from the fair go towards buying books for our school library. Our book fair usually makes $2500 - that's a lot of new books for our kids! With a much bigger selection of books and being able to shop online I am hoping this year will be even more successful.

Thank you for supporting our school library and your child's love of reading!

Anonymous Alerts - The District has implemented an important new communications tool called Anonymous Alerts. Anonymous Alerts allows students, parents and staff to quickly, easily, and anonymously report urgent information to school officials across all of our school buildings. The system encourages students, parents and staff to confidentially report sensitive topics through private messages to the District.

To submit an alert online go to:https://report.anonymousalerts.com/cedarfallscsd

To submit an alert on your phone:

  • Download the Anonymous Alerts® app for free from the Apple Store, Google Play store, or the Chrome store

  • Start the App, enter activation code: cedarfallscsd

  • Send important reports to school officials

The mobile apps and web-based reporting system provides secure 1-way or 2-way encrypted messages, increasing the flow of important information to school officials. Message topics for submission may include bullying, cyber-bullying, family difficulties, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual harassment, vaping, anti-LGBTQ+ motiviated incident/discrimination or racially motivated incident/discrimination.

All reports remain completely anonymous, although submitters have the option to reveal their identity if they prefer to have a person-to-person discussion. The program is monitored from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., and should only be used for serious and urgent matters.

We feel that we have a responsibility to offer this tool to our community in order to protect the safety of our students, providing avenues for confidential disclosure when there is something serious that is troubling them.
