Lincoln Elementary Learning Update 2020-04-07
Good afternoon Lincoln families - the purpose of this communication is to share information about how we will support student learning through April 30th. Please expect my weekly email to change to late Friday afternoon to include learning opportunities for the next week. If you have questions, please let us know, we are happy to help!
Elementary Voluntary Educational Enrichment Opportunities:
The purpose of this communication is to support student and family understanding of student learning through April 30. Teachers will reach out to families on a weekly basis.
March 23 through April 10:
● While new learning has not been covered between March 23 - April 10th, teachers have been offering optional opportunities for students to work on skills previously taught. A website was created by the District to provide several resources to help with engaging students in learning.
April 13 through April 30:
● Our district has chosen to engage in a Continuous Learning Model.
● During this time of extended school closure, your child’s teacher will be sending a weekly document of learning opportunities that are aligned to our curriculum. This document will include all subjects and special areas to support you as a family and will be sent to you the previous Friday by 5 p.m. (Please note: The first week you may not receive the document until Monday, April 13.)
● Teachers will be providing ongoing instruction aligned with the curriculum. The educational opportunities provided by teachers will cover the critical skills to best prepare students for future learning. We ask that you encourage your student(s) to engage in the learning guidelines provided by their teachers. This learning may include paper-pencil activities, teleconferencing, online instruction, and/or other outreach activities.
● Your student(s) can expect to receive feedback on the learning process from their teacher(s). The feedback provided during this time will not be factored into the performance report but is intended to engage students in learning opportunities.
Respectfully,
Ralph Bryant
