Arrival and Dismissal Reminders

Lincoln Families - As we begin a new school year, we would like to share our arrival and dismissal plans to support safety and to maintain a focused learning environment.

In the morning: We will maintain our drop off routines. Cars may continue to use the 8th Street loop to drop off students. We will continue to have our Safety Patrol students support crossing around the school. Buses will continue to drop off using the 7th Street loop. We welcome students to our playgrounds after 8:30 when our staff is available for supervision. If it is raining, the temperature or wind chill is 0 or below or weather conditions do not allow students to be outside, we will ask students to report to their classrooms instead of going to their playgrounds.

During the day: We have a limited number of visitor parking spots available for families who wish to volunteer, visit for lunch or need to pick up their child. Using cones, we will close our 8th Street loop during the day. We will continue to ask all visitors to check in at the office with their Driver’s License and wear a visitor badge when they enter the building. We will ask students to remain inside for their recess if the temperature or wind chill is 0 or below or weather conditions do not allow students to be outside.

After school: If it is raining, the temperature or wind chill is 0 or below, we will open our doors to families at 3:40. We will ask that Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade families come inside and pick up their students at the East playground doors. Our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade families are welcome to come inside the 8th Street entrance and meet students near the Office. Please note that when we move pickup inside, students will only be released from these locations. We will continue to have our Safety Patrol students support crossing.

Last, please use a parking spot when you come to Lincoln Elementary. At all times of the day, we want to ensure our street is clear in the event of emergencies. After school, we will utilize our current visitor parking as well as the parking spots along Clay and Tremont Street to eliminate double parking.

Would you like to participate in our Walking School Bus? If a family is not able to meet their child at the door, we will offer a walking school bus supported by both staff and older students to help the students arrive at their cars safely. Students meet near the office following dismissal and we walk the students to their cars parked along Tremont Street. Please call our office if you would like to participate!

Thank you for your support as we work to maintain a safe and focused learning environment!
