Back to School Information | Holmes Junior HIgh

Howdy Parents and Students!

The first day of school (August 23rd) is just around the corner and the staff at Holmes Junior High is thrilled to have students return for the 2021-22 school year.

With such a short time until the first day of school, you will find a handy checklist of things to know for students coming to Holmes on the 23rd! Down below, you will find a few pertinent items of information for the first week of school (and leading up to it)!

-Last year students were allowed to carry backpacks for the first time. The same will be the case for this upcoming school year. Students will have the option to carry a backpack if they wish to do so. Every student will also be assigned a locker for storing personal items and school utensils. If needed, students will be able to access their locker during passing time in between periods.

- Masks and other facial coverings will be optional for all students during school hours. Any students that ride the bus to or from school will be required to wear a mask according to federal law. This includes students that ride the bus to the high school during the day.

Last year Holmes Junior high had four lunch shifts, however this year the schedule will revert to having three shifts: A, B, and C shifts.

Back to School Night has been cancelled. This was originally scheduled for the night of August 19th, however the decision has been made to cancel the event. Students will be able to bring their personal items and school supplies on Monday, August 23rd, the first day of school.

For students who do not yet have their schedule, you have two options of accessing that. If you were unable to attend picture night or lost your previous copy, all families can pick up a physical copy of their schedule in the main office at Holmes Junior High. Students can also see their class schedule through PowerSchool. If you have any questions about accessing PowerSchool, you can contact Mr. Hirdler in the Counseling Office at benjamin.hirdler@cfschools.org
