Orchestra Students Participate in Virtual Workshop

Orchestra students at both Peet and Holmes Jr. Highs had the opportunity to participate in a virtual workshop with Annie Savage, a professional and well-known bluegrass fiddler. Savage uses her platform to promote diversity and students’ individual voice.

Holmes and Peet students worked with Ms. Savage on musical improvisation and were able to learn about working in the music industry. Ms. Savage touched on how to be successful in such a competitive field, stressing the importance of creativity and setting oneself apart from the crowd.

The presentation was funded by the McElroy Excellence in Education grant.
