On Friday, November 8 help support the Veterans Day Breakfast by donating $1 to wear a hat or hood for the day. Give your donation to your 1st Period teacher and receive a ticket. A copy of your ticket will be placed in a raffle for a prize.
This year we will host our annual Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 11. Our student council is planning to serve breakfast to veterans starting at 9:45 AM in the cafeteria. Following the breakfast there will be a student-led assembly at approximately 10:45 AM in the new gym.
We would like to invite the family members and/or friends of our students & staff who have served or who are currently serving our country to the breakfast and assembly. If you know someone who would like to attend please contact the office at 553-2650 by Wednesday, November 6 with their name and branch of service so that we can honor them properly during our event.
Only four Tuesday work days during Tiger Time remain for the Know Your Constitution Program this year. 9th graders, come to Mr. Kuker's room this Tuesday for the next work session. See Mr. Kuker with questions.
Interested in ancient Greek mythology? Then come to Mythology club this Tuesday in Rm 11 during Tiger Time. We will be learning about and watching and listening to different things based on Greek mythology.
7th and 8th grade girls interested in wrestling this year should sign up using the link posted in schoology, by the end of the day Friday, November 8th.
The Board Game Club is not meeting this week. We will plan to meet Wednesday, November 13th after school in room 15.
The Holmes Social Studies Department held a mock election yesterday. The following are the final results from the Holmes student body: For president, students elected Donald Trump with 291 votes compared to Kamala Harris with 208 votes. For the House of Representatives race, students elected Ashley Hinson with 296 votes compared to Sarah Corkery with 212 votes. Thanks for voting!
