After winning the Iowa Science Olympiad, the Holmes Junior High Science Club traveled this weekend to East Lansing, MI where the National Science Olympiad was held on the Michigan State Campus. This was Holmes first trip to the National Science Olympiad and the competition was fierce. Holmes came in 38th out of 60 teams. Highlights for our team included top ten finishes in Ecology and Experimental design. We also had top 25 finishes in Fossils, Meteorology, and Reach for the Stars. Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Duff were extremely proud of how the entire team represented Holmes, the city of Cedar Falls, and the state of Iowa on the national stage.

There will be an informational meeting after school on Thursday in the gym for boys in 8th or 9th grade who are interested in joining cross country. The meeting will take 10 minutes. If you are unable to attend, stop in the office for sign up information.
