Student Life Holmes Junior High

Fitness Plus will be closed today and Friday this week.  The rest of the week in fitness plus, the only option will be Halloween Just Dance.

The 9th grade boys basketball team will have an informational meeting at 3:10 after school on Wednesday. If you are unable to make the meeting, please see Coach Rottinghaus. If you are interested in being a manager for the 9th grade boys basketball team, please see Coach Rottinghaus.

We will be offering state football playoff shirts.  The link to order your shirt is on the high schools website. The deadline to order and pay is noon this Wednesday. 

The high school will be offering a Pep Bus on Saturday, Nov 2 to watch the State XC meet in Fort Dodge (Kennedy Park).  The cost to ride is $6, but 9th grade cross country runners ride for free. The link to sign up is on the high school’s web page.  We must have 35 people signed up and paid to make this possible. It would leave from the Auditorium entrance of CFHS at 7:30 am and return at approximately 3:00 pm.   We would like to fill the bus! There is admission to the XC meet. this year.  $10.00 (pay in Fort Dodge).  Deadline is Thursday, Oct 31  at 3:00 pm.   


Varsity Football tickets for the first round Quarterfinals are on sale at the high school for $8. Payment must be cash or check only.  No credit/debit cards. No passes or activity tickets will be accepted at the rest of the football games. The game is Friday, Nov 1 at 7:00 pm against  Dubuque Senior Cedar Falls will sit on the west side (our normal side).


Have you ever wanted to learn about the foundation of modern popular music? Check out Mr. Droste's room 6 during Timer Time today for Pop Music History. We will be focusing on a different decade each week. This week, we will be looking at the start of 1950s rock music. Hope to see you there. 


Have you found a pumpkin eraser? Turn it in to the Counseling Office for a treat.

On Thursday students may wear costumes if they donate an item to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank or $1. Give all donations to your 1st Period teacher. Please note that costumes must meet dress code expectations.

Holmes Staff- Show your Halloween spirit and wear your costumes. Students will vote on Best Holmes Staff Costume. 


The Know Your Constitution program will again be holding a work session in Mr. Kuker's room during Tiger Time this Thursday, October 31st for all 9th graders involved. 


Join us tomorrow in Room 49A during Tiger Time for the Cancer Awareness Bracelet Club! We will be learning how to make Friendship Bracelets to donate to the Cancer Center at Mercy One.
