Student Life Holmes Junior High

Performers! Variety Show is coming sooner than you think! This year's theme is BRITISH INVASION. The British Invasion happened in the 1960s when rock and pop music from England "invaded" the U.S. along with other British culture like the first mini-skirts and haircuts inspired by the Beatles. Today the "Invasion" is still happening with imports from Britain like Adele, Harry Potter, Dr. Who, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. This year we're looking for all kinds of acts including: music, magic, comedy, rappers, dance, drama, poetry, or anything else you can think of! Even if your act doesn't fit the theme, we still want to meet you and we have plenty of suggestions. Auditions will be held in early December. If you're interested in performing, contact Mrs. Talbot, Mrs. Pruisner, or Ms. Cardamone for more information.

7th grade girls basketball players: Just a reminder that the White and Black teams will be playing against Waterloo Christian at home tonight and the Red and White teams will be traveling to Central to play tomorrow night.

The Tigers 7th grade girls basketball team found success last Friday night when they took on St. Pat's. Numerous girls found playing time for the Tigers, and they executed their offense extremely well. The girls churned out a double-digit halftime advantage and never looked back, winning the first game, 50-19. Holmes struggled more so offensively in the final two-quarter game, and ended up being on the short end of a 14-5 contest. The White and Black teams are back in action tonight when they take on Waterloo Christian at four in the Old Gym.
