In honor of September being Suicide Prevention Month, MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention) Leaders are handing out teal, purple and green ribbons. Please stop in the counseling office and pick one up. We would also like to invite all of you to a very important community event on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Gallagher Bluedorn. Emma Benoit's documentary will share her story about her suicide attempt and how it affected her life. Emma will be at the viewing for a Q and A after the documentary showing. Her mission now is to share her story to inspire hope. Please mark your calendars and join us for this very important event. The cost is free and no tickets are needed.
Students who are interested in attending any of Iowa's Private Colleges, please join us TODAY during 5th hour in the library for our continuation of College Application Week. Natalie Smith, from Wartburg, will be here to help you fill out applications to any of the Iowa private colleges. Students need to know their Social Security Number to complete the college application and FSA ID.
SAGA will meet in Portable #1 this Friday during both shifts of Power Hour to talk about LGBTQ+ representation in the media. Everyone is welcome!
A representative from Mt. Mercy will be here on Friday, Sept. 30 at 9:45 am to speak with interested students. A representative from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL will be available via a Zoom meeting on Thursday, Oct 6 at 8:45 am. Sign up through Schoology.
Attention AP students: There will be an important informational meeting for all students taking Advanced Placement (AP) exams on Wednesday, October 5th during first OR second shift of Power Hour in the high school auditorium. Attendance will be taken for sophomores.
Follow the Tigers: Boys' JV Golf Quad will begin at 3:15 pm at Timberline Golf Course in Peosta; Boys' Varsity Golf meet will begin at 3:15 pm at Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo; JV Volleyball Quad will begin at 5:00 pm at Union High School.
