Our Black History quote today is from Maya Angelou: “Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise. I rise. I rise.”

Just a reminder to the Class of 2023 Juniors: Please have your 2022-23 courses entered into Power School by TODAY! Individual meetings start TODAY and you can still make changes if you have questions. It is very helpful if you have your courses entered.

In the CAPS CNA program, you do more than just attain a CNA certification. There are opportunities to build a network for future job opportunities, learn valuable professional skills, and gain hands-on learning experiences.

Reminder to students: The Junior / Senior prom will be held on Saturday, April 9 this year. All detentions, and fees and fines on Power School need to be taken care of before you can purchase a Prom ticket. Do not procrastinate in getting these things taken care of. Prom tickets will go on sale in a few weeks.

Hey, CFHS Juniors, here is a reminder that this FRIDAY, February 25th is the last day to sign up for the April 2nd ACT test date. The link to sign up is on the Schoology page. If payment is an issue please contact your school counselor for a fee waiver. Visit the CFHS Counseling website for free ACT prep. Even though some colleges are not requiring ACT scores, college admissions representatives are recommending students take it for scholarship purposes.

Anyone interested in going out for Women's Tennis is invited to attend an informational meeting with head coach Tara Sagers this Friday, February 25th during the 1st shift of Power Hour in the high school office conference room. Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Congratulations to all the DECA participants on a great state convention and competition. On to Atlanta!!

The Black Student Union is hosting a Poetry Out Loud event Wednesday, February 23. This event is where individuals can read aloud poems of their own or poems from other poets. These poems will be inspired by black experiences and black excellence to celebrate Black History Month. This will be held in the auditorium starting at 11:40 during Power Hour. Look for a form in your class group in Schoology to sign up!

Attention potential Driver Education students: registration forms are in the office or the High School website for Summer Driver Education. Please register as soon as possible to ensure you get a spot.

Be aware, Be inspired, and Be involved. On Wednesday, February 23rd, multicultural students are invited to a short meeting in the auditorium at 11:00 am. Information will be shared about several multicultural organizations and opportunities at CFHS along with how to get involved. Keep an eye out for invites coming from the Counseling office. See you there!
