Very important announcement! First Christian Church next door to the high school is providing a FREE lunch for all students and staff TODAY in honor of Homecoming! Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookie and a drink will be provided. This will be set up in the church parking lot during Power Hour. Students and staff can exit the horseshoe doors on the south side of the building to walk over to the parking lot to eat. This creates NO CHANGE in our Power Hour schedule. Students/staff should eat lunch during their normal lunchtime. It is expected that everyone will be respectful and appreciative to the volunteers who are serving the lunch and ALL garbage gets put in garbage cans!
The Varsity football game tonight will start at 7:00 pm, not 7:15 pm. All students with an activity pass MUST HAVE THEIR ID with them in order to have free admittance under their activity pass.
The Art Club will be meeting Tuesday, October 12th during the 2nd Shift of Power Hour. We will be holding officer elections and planning for Trunk or Treat and a Halloween party. Please don't miss this meeting!
Juniors and Sophomores - If you registered to take the PSAT next Wednesday, October 13th make sure to check your email for important test day information.The 10th Annual Fields of Faith event hosted by FCA will be held Wednesday October 15th starting at 7pm at the High School Football Field. Everyone is welcome to attend. See Mr. Wilkinson or Mr. Peters for more information.
Dana from Iowa Safe Schools is coming to join SAGA today to give us LGBTQ+ information and resources. After her presentation we are going to have a conversation about coming to terms with our own identities. Join us if you are interested in room 106.

Hey seniors! Have you attended a college admissions rep meeting yet? If not, don't worry because we have two more next week! On Monday, October 11th, Iowa State University will be here during Power Hour and periods 5 and 6. Next Tuesday the University of Iowa will be here during 3rd and 4th hour to meet with you! Just a reminder to have your social number and have a credit card available to pay for your application fee. Students will also do their FSA ID after they apply. Let your counselor know if you didn't sign up on your senior start survey!
Attention AP Students: We are one month away from the deadline to indicate your exam decision. If you have not done so already, please make sure you log in to your College Board account and change your decision from undecided to yes or no. Please see Ms. Bettle in room 213 during the first shift of Power Hour if you need help or have any questions.
Follow the Tigers: Boys' State Golf tournament began today at Beaver Hills Country Club; Sophomore football game will begin at 5:00 pm here at CFHS; Varsity football game will begin at 7:00 pm at the UNI Dome.
SATURDAY: Sophomore volleyball will begin at 9:00 am at Cedar Rapids Kennedy; Varsity Volleyball match will begin at 8:30 am at Center Point-Urbana.
