Senior students who have been admitted to UNI and may have questions can set up an appointment to meet with UNI prior to the presentation. See Mrs. Javellana in counseling to make that appointment.
A representative from Upper Iowa University will be here on Friday, March 6 at 10:30 am. Interested students may sign up in Counseling or through Schoology.
Students: Are you interested in joining the military in the future? If not, are you interested in making a difference in the community? If you answered yes to either, or both, of these questions, then Air Force JROTC at Waterloo West High School is a program for you. Those who enlist with JROTC experience are automatically ranked higher than those without JROTC experience. However, JROTC is not a military preparation program, since military service is not for everyone. In fact, most JROTC cadets do not join the military after high school. If serving in the armed forces isn't your plan, and you're interested in having fun while making a difference to the people around you, JROTC has tons to offer. There will be a student briefing for the program tomorrow (Thursday, February 27th) during both Power Hour shifts in room 106. All students are welcome. There will be treats, free Air Force clothing, and more! Hope to see you there!
Follow the Tigers: Girls' and Boys' Varsity State Bowling begins at 10:00 am today at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo.
REMINDERS:
Sophomores and Juniors: Please get your courses entered in Power School for next year if you have not gotten that done. You are still able to make changes during the meeting with your school counselor. We appreciate the students who we met with last week who had their courses entered. The meeting goes much faster when students are prepared! f you have questions about core classes, please ask your teachers. Also, reach out to teachers of elective departments if you have questions about their classes. We just need you to enter your courses in Power School! Students who have met with their counselor are reminded to get parent/guardian signature on their course request sheet and return it to the counseling office!
