Cedar Falls High School Bulletin for Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Announcements: Tuesday, February 25 2020 B Day

Congratulations to all state DECA participants and to Kimi Du, Hunter Peterson, Jack Plagge, and T.J. Tomlyanovich for qualifying for nationals in Nashville!

If you ordered a State Bowling t-shirt, you may now pick it up in the main office.

Students: Are you interested in joining the military in the future? If not, are you interested in making a difference in the community? If you answered yes to either, or both, of these questions, then Air Force JROTC at Waterloo West High School is a program for you. Those who enlist with JROTC experience are automatically ranked higher than those without JROTC experience. However, JROTC is not a military preparation program, since military service is not for everyone. In fact, most JROTC cadets do not join the military after high school. If serving in the armed forces isn't your plan, and you're interested in having fun while making a difference to the people around you, JROTC has tons to offer. There will be a student briefing for the program this Thursday, February 27th, during both Power Hour shifts in room 106. Interested and uninterested students are welcome. There will be treats, free Air Force clothing, and more! Hope to see you there.

The Art Club will be meeting during the second half of Power Hour today in the Art room (#34). We will be planning upcoming projects including - the Post-It Note Art Show and the joint Cedar Falls community beautification project with UNI Capstone students. All students are welcome to be a part of the Art Club even if you're not currently in an Art class. Come join us!

Sophomores and Juniors: Please get your courses entered in Power School for next year if you have not done so. You are still able to make changes during the meeting with your school counselor. We appreciate the students who we met with last week who had their courses entered. The meeting goes much faster when students are prepared! If you have questions about core classes, please ask your teachers. Also, reach out to teachers of elective departments if you have questions about their classes. Students who have met with their counselor are reminded to get parent/guardian signature on their course request sheet and return it to the counseling office!

Junior leadership: We will meet today during the 2nd shift of Power Hour in Room 160. We will confirm what items we need to order for prom. Please don't miss this meeting!

Follow the Tigers: Girls' Varsity Basketball Regional game will begin at 7:00 pm at CFHS.

REMINDERS:

Interested students in playing women's soccer this spring, there will be a Women's Soccer Player and Parent information meeting on Monday, March 9th in the high school cafeteria at 6:00pm. Please plan ahead this is a required event. Contact Coach Place with questions, alexplace4@gmail.com
