Student Life Cedar Falls High SchoolCongratulations to the men’s and women’s bowling teams on qualifying for State! State Bowling t-shirts will be available to order by the end of today on the CFHS website under the Athletics tab. Order and pay in the main office by Friday, February 21 at 12:30 pm.
Anyone interested in playing baseball this summer, there will be an informational meeting in the auditorium on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 pm for grades 9-12. If you cannot make the meeting and want information, contact Coach Williams via his school email, brett.williams@cfschools.org
The Lost and Found cupboard in the main office is getting very full! Please check this cupboard if you are missing any items such as sweatshirts, coats, lunch totes, water bottles, etc.
One last reminder on state wrestling, if you plan to attend the state tournament tomorrow (Thursday) you must have a parent notify the Attendance office by 3:00 pm TODAY! If you plan to attend the tournament on Friday, your parent must notify the Attendance office by 3:00 pm on Thursday.
REMINDERS:If you are planning on attending this year’s State Wrestling Tournament, there will be certain procedures you will need to follow in order for your absence to be excused. This year’s State Wrestling Tournament will start on Thursday, February 20th and runs through Saturday, February 22nd. If you are planning on attending the State Wrestling Tournament, a PARENT NOTE or PARENT PHONE CALL must be received by the attendance office before you leave or your absence will be unexcused. (319-553-2584) This year, 3A schools including Cedar Falls, will wrestle starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20th. If you plan on watching the Tigers wrestle on Thursday, please call or bring a note to the attendance office by 3:00 pm on Wednesday. Wrestling on Friday, February 21st begins at 9:00 a.m. If you plan to go on Friday, please notify the attendance office before 3:00 p.m. the previous day (Thursday, February 20th). You will have to purchase your first round tickets at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Tickets for all sessions are $10.00. If you have further questions about the State Wrestling Tournament or procedures for attending this year’s tournament, please contact the Attendance Office or the Athletic Office.
Juniors and Sophomores! How are you coming on your schedules for next year? Make sure you have enough classes written on your sheet. When you have your sheet completed, add your course requests to Power School. If you are not sure what to take, please check out the resources on Schoology and you can also talk to teachers, parents, mentors, and other students who can give you information. Don't procrastinate! We would like you to have your courses entered into Power School by Friday, February 21st! Don't forget to come to the meeting with your school counselor when you get the pass!
T-shirts are available to order in memory of Will Reinert. "Where there's a Will, there's a Way" is the logo on the shirt. Will graduated in 2019 and recently lost his battle to leukemia. Will showed courage and spirit and was very inspirational to everyone. T-shirt money will go towards a scholarship fund in Will's memory. The deadline to order and pay in the main office is Wednesday, Feb. 26 by 3:00 p.m.
Softball players: The indoor hitting facility will be open on Mon. & Wed. beginning 2/26 (that's a Wed.) 4:30-6 pm. Mondays will be open 5-6:30 pm. This is for girls grades 8-12 who plan to play HS softball this summer.
Interested students in playing women's soccer this spring, there will be a Women's Soccer Player and Parent information meeting on March 9th in the high school cafeteria at 6:00pm. Please plan ahead this is a required event. Contact Coach Place with questions at alexplace4@gmail.com
