If you missed the Power Hour Advisory yesterday, today you will need to attend a make-up session today immediately following 4th hour in the auditorium. Your 4th hour teacher will walk you down to the auditorium following the dismissal bell.
A representative from the Air National Guard will be here to speak with interested students on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 10:30 am. Interested students can sign up through Schoology or in Counseling.
If you are planning on attending this year’s State Wrestling Tournament, there will be certain procedures you will need to follow in order for your absence to be excused. This year’s State Wrestling Tournament will start on Thursday, February 20th and runs through Saturday, February 22nd. If you are planning on attending the State Wrestling Tournament, a PARENT NOTE or PARENT PHONE CALL must be received by the attendance office before you leave or your absence will be unexcused. (319-553-2584) This year, 3A schools including Cedar Falls, will wrestle starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20th. If you plan on watching the Tigers wrestle on Thursday, please call or bring a note to the attendance office by 3:00 pm on Wednesday. Wrestling on Friday, February 21st begins at 9:00 a.m. If you plan to go on Friday, please notify the attendance office before 3:00 p.m. the previous day (Thursday, February 20th). You will have to purchase your first round tickets at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Tickets for all sessions are $10.00. Finally, if you are interested in a State Wrestling t-shirt, you can order one on either on the Cedar Falls High School webpage blog, the Athletic webpage, or on Schoology. Cost is $10. There is an additional charge for any t-shirt larger than an XL. Please pay in the main office. If you have further questions about the State Wrestling Tournament or procedures for attending this year’s tournament, please contact the Attendance Office or the Athletic Office.
Listen up Junior Leadership: We will have a meeting TODAY during the 2nd shift of Power Hour in Rm 160 to further discussions about Prom.
Juniors and Sophomores: How are you coming on your schedules for next year? Make sure you have enough classes written on your sheet. When you have your sheet completed, add your course requests to Power School. If you are not sure what to take, please check out the resources on Schoology and you can also talk to teachers, parents, mentors, and other students who can give you information. Don't procrastinate! We would like you to have your courses entered into Power School by Friday, February 21st! Don't forget to come to the meeting with your school counselor when you get the pass!
T-shirts are available to order in memory of Will Reinert. "Where there's a Will, there's a Way" is the logo on the shirt. Will graduated in 2019 and recently lost his battle to leukemia. Will showed courage and spirit and was very inspirational to everyone. T-shirt money will go towards a scholarship fund in Will's memory. The deadline to order and pay in the main office is Wednesday, Feb. 26 by 3:00 p.m.Follow the Tigers: Girls' and Boys' Varsity Bowling will begin at 1:00 pm at Lancer Lanes in Cedar Rapids; Boys' Sophomore basketball game will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by the Varsity at 7:30 pm at Dubuque Hempstead; the band cookie concert will begin a 7:30 pm in the CFHS gymnasium.
