Today's environmental awareness team holiday challenge is to think about the waste that will be generated as you open gifts next week. When the excitement of opening gifts is over take the time to sort the paper and plastic waste and dispose of it properly. If you are not sure what can and cannot be recycled be sure to check out the Cedar Falls city website.
Reminder: Today is a required Power Hour day for all students. Please report to your assigned Power Hour. Attendance is mandatory!The Snow Ball Dance will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at UNI Maucker Union. You may order tickets on the CFHS website, but they will not be available to pick up in the main office until after winter break on January 2. The deadline to order and pay is Thursday, January 16 by 3:30 pm. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance as they will NOT be sold at the door. Cost of tickets is $10.00. If you wish to bring a guest from outside of CFHS, you must fill out a guest form which are available to pick up in the main office. Deadline to have this form turned in is Wednesday, January 15 by 3:30 pm.
This is an important announcement regarding 2nd semester Junior / Senior Student release privileges. Sophomores are not permitted to leave the building for their lunch or study hall time. Any Junior or Senior student that wishes to obtain release privileges for 2nd semester are required to have all their detention time served and all fines and fees paid. You may contact Mrs Patterson in the Attendance Office or your counselor or administrator if you have questions about your account balances. Students not taking care of their obligations will be placed in an Assigned Study Hall for 2nd semester. Also, Any student wishing to attend our school dances, you will need to have all their obligations taken care of before you may attend. You may serve detentions before school with your teacher [who will then share your time served with the Attendance Office], or your counselor or your administrator. After school students may also served detention with their teacher or in the Tiger Den until 3:50pm. Students wishing to serve detention during their Lunch time must make arrangements, in advance, with their school administrator for permission to serve in Room 55.
Students and parents are invited to visit the STEM Open House at the High School TONIGHT from 6-7 PM. The Open House will take place in rooms 30 and 31. Come learn about Computer Science and Engineering class opportunities for students in grades 9 through 12, along with STEM extracurricular activities.
Follow the Tigers: Boys' JV Basketball game will begin at 7:00 pm at CFHS; The Band Concert will begin at 7:30 pm in the Auditorium.
