CFHS Homecoming festivities will take place the week of September 23rd, with the dance scheduled for Saturday, September 28th. Stay tuned for more information as the date gets closer. If you plan to bring a guest to the dance who is not a student at CFHS, you must fill out a guest form. These can be picked up from Mrs. Skarlis in the main office. The deadline to submit the guest form is Wednesday, September 25 by 3:30 pm! Get this taken care of ASAP! Homecoming t-shirts are now available to order through the high school website. Use the link on the website to order your shirt and then pay in the main office. The deadline to order and pay for a shirt is Friday, September 20 at 3:00 pm!
Students, please check your PowerSchool balance page on a regular basis throughout the year for any outstanding fines or fees. We recommend logging out and logging back in to your account to see the most up to date information. See Mrs. Steffy in the main office if you have any questions. As a reminder, all fines and fees must be paid and detentions must be served prior to purchasing Homecoming dance tickets.
Sophomores: Please bring your chromebook charger to school. Often, your Chromebooks do not turn on and you need to plug in your Chromebook and then push the power button and the refresh button.
The Cedar Falls Esports Seasons are going to get started soon. If you are looking to compete in some of your favorite video games, this might be a great opportunity for you to get involved in. The final list of games we will be competing in will be determined by player interest, but the Fall Major season begins at the end of the month. If you are interested in competing please come to an informational meeting during 1st shift of Power Hour on Tuesday, September 10.
Did you know that 80% of LGBTQ teens report severe isolation in high school? SAGA hopes to help change that! Standing for Sexuality And Gender Acceptance, we aim to create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for all. LGBTQ students, allies, and staff members are invited to join us in room 106 during Power Hour on Thursday, September 12th for our first meeting of the year.
Are you interested in a job shadow experience to explore careers? There is no better way to solidify your graduation story than confirm your career interest or rule it out. This is a great opportunity for you to be able to spend a few hours, a 1/2 or a full day with a professional in the Cedar Valley learning what they do in their jobs. Mr. Wood will be holding job shadow signs up today, 1st shift of Power Hour in the auditorium. The meeting will take less than 15 minutes for those on time. Kelly Kobliska, from Cedar Valley Career Connections, will be available in the counseling office for meetings 5th-7th hour if you can't make Power Hour.
This week is National Suicide Prevention Week. Please see your class Schoology page for the crisis number to call, chat or text. Take a minute to add this number to your phone in case you or a friend or family member need it.
Last call to sign up for the College Fair at the McLeod Center on Tuesday. Sign up will be closed at noon today!! Students who signed up need to check their email for directions for tomorrow!!
