“On behalf of the College Board, I am pleased to share the news that Cedar Falls Community School District is one of 373 districts across the United States and Canada that has earned the distinction of inclusion on the 9th Annual AP Honor Roll. This is your second year in a row, and the 5th time in 9 years, of making this list - truly elite company. Congratulations!” Andy Houpt  Director, K-12 State and District Partnerships, The College Board.

Cedar Falls School District is one of only two districts in the state of Iowa and one of 373 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 9th Annual AP® District Honor Roll. The AP District Honor Roll recognizes school districts committed to increasing access to Advanced Placement for underrepresented students while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. AP District Honor Roll recipients are committed to expanding the availability of AP courses among prepared and motivated students of all backgrounds.

To be included on the Annual Honor Roll, Cedar Falls School District had to from 2016 to 2018:
-Increase participation/access to AP by at least 6%
-Increase or maintain percentage of American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander students taking exams and increased or maintained the percentage of American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander students scoring 3+ on at least one AP Exam; and
-Improve performance levels when comparing the percentage of students in 2018 scoring a 3 or higher than those in 2016, unless the district has already attained a performance level at which more than 70% of its AP students are scoring a 3 or higher

"This recognition demonstrates our goal to have all students achieve at high levels. Our teachers have challenged themselves, and our students, to achieve at the highest levels of learning, and our students have stepped up to that challenge. We are proud to be recognized by the College Board for the outstanding efforts of our students and teachers," said Jason Wedgbury, CFHS Principal.
