Baseball players: we will meet on Monday, January 6th at 3:15 pm in Rm. 106 to talk about the fundraiser as well as set up a pre-season schedule. If you cannot make it, please contact Coach Williams or Coach March. Make sure to bring Doughnut Packets.
DECA will meet on Tuesday, January 7 in room 270, during shift 1 of Power Hour. We will discuss the upcoming District conference. See Mr. Hansel if you can not make the meeting.
Columbia University in New York will be here on Monday, January 6 at 2:15 pm to meet with interested students. Sign up in Counseling or through Schoology.
Follow the Tigers: Boys' and Girls' JV and Varsity Bowling will begin at 4:15 pm at Maple Lanes in Waterloo; Girls' JV Basketball game will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by the Varsity at 7:30 pm at Linn-Mar High School; Boys' Sophomore Basketball game will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by the Varsity at 7:30 pm at CFHS; SATURDAY: NEIBA Jazz Contest will take place at Cedar Rapids Kennedy; NEISTA Honor Orchestra will take place at Waverly Shell-Rock High School.
REMINDERS: The Snowball Dance will take place on Saturday, January 18th at UNI Maucker Union from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Sign up for your tickets on the CFHS website, then pay and pick up your tickets in the main office. The cost is $10 per ticket. The deadline to sign up and pay is Thursday, January 16th by 3:30 pm. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. If you plan to bring a guest who is not a student at CFHS, a guest form must be filled out. These can be picked up from Mrs. Skarlis in the main office. These need to be submitted no later than Wednesday, January 15th by 3:30 pm.
Mark your calendars for the Spaghetti Dinner hosted by the CFHS Competition Cheer Team on Sunday, January 5th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Amvets Post 49. Spaghetti, salad and bread for $5.00! Come support the cheerleaders!Any Junior or Senior student who wishes to obtain release privileges for 2nd semester are required to have all their detention time served and all fines and fees paid. You may contact Mrs. Patterson in the Attendance Office or your counselor or administrator if you have questions about your account balances. Students not taking care of their obligations will be placed in an Assigned Study Hall for 2nd semester. Also, Any student wishing to attend our school dances, you will need to have all their obligations taken care of before you may attend. You may serve detentions before school with your teacher [who will then share your time served with the Attendance Office], or your counselor or your administrator. After school students may also served detention with their teacher or in the Tiger Den until 3:50 pm. Students wishing to serve detention during their Lunch time must make arrangements, in advance, with their school administrator for permission to serve in Room 55.
