Every Monday, the Cedar Falls Community School District has a late start for secondary schools. Teachers and staff use this time for professional learning. When we have a delay due to weather issues we follow the Monday schedule. That means busses will also follow that schedule and food service is prepared for breakfast. 

Holmes will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. on Friday 9/4/2026 for teacher professional develpment. We will have a modified bell schedule. Hot lunch will not be servied but students can sign up for a sack lunch to take home. Monday is Labor Day so we will not have school. When we are back on Tuesday we will kick off dress-up days for homecoming week. 

Holmes ECHOES will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:15 PM. For more information on the activities for the first session follow this link. The ECHOES bus picks students up at Holmes at 4:15, and drops them off at their home addresses. Every Monday, Peet Junior High will start school at 9:30am and dismiss at 3:00pm.Tuesday-Friday, Peet Junior High will start at 8:00am and dismiss at 3:00pm.  We do not have early dismissal like the elementary buildings.
