How well do you know our rights outlined in the Constitution? Are you interested in winning a trip to Washington D.C.? Participate in this year's Know Your Constitution Contest to learn more! Participants will complete a 50 question open book multiple choice test and write one essay related to a current event in our country. If you are interested in more information, contact your Social Studies teacher or see Ms. Lake in room 255. Contest submissions are due to your social studies teacher or Ms. Lake by Tuesday, November 26.

Auditions for speech are happening this week! You do not have to prepare anything. If you would like to sign up for an audition, please either contact Ms. Bettag or join CFHS Speech 19-20 on Schoology.

Reminder: If you are interested in a trip to German-speaking countries this summer, come to a meeting TODAY in Room 141 right after school.

Follow the Tigers: Boys' Varsity Golf meet will begin at 3:15 pm at Ellis golf Course in Cedar Rapids; Sophomore Football game will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by the Varsity at 7:15 pm at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids vs. Cedar Rapids Jefferson; JV Volleyball Quad tournament will begin at 5:00 pm at Union High School; Sophomore and JV volleyball tournament will begin at 5:30 pm at Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

REMINDERS: UNI's "Be a Teacher for a Day" event is coming up, Friday, October 11th. The day will give those interested in becoming an educator a chance to learn more about our outstanding teacher education program. This day includes an opportunity to speak with faculty about your academic interests, time to talk with current UNI students, a group session concerning admission requirements, financing your college education, and living on campus, an optional campus tour, and lunch at one of our dining centers. Seniors: The FAFSA opens up on October 1st! Do you need help? Starting on Monday, October 7th John Holland from ICAN will be at CFHS. You must sign up for an appointment. Please check Schoology or the CFHS Counseling Website to sign up NOW!
