Announcements: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 B Day

Listen up junior leadership: We are going to meet TODAY to discuss our homecoming ideas, 2nd shift of Power Hour in room 160. See you there!

Interested in learning more about business and competing for the chance to travel to Nashville in April? Join DECA! Develop new skills for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, management and more. First meeting is this Thursday the 12th during shift 1 in room 270 of the business department.

If you applied for Sophomore Leadership, please attend our first meeting this Thursday, Sept. 12 during Shift 2 of Power Hour in Room 144. Please see the Schoology 2022 page for more details.

Please join us for an Active Minds meeting on Tuesday, Sept 17th during the 2nd shift of Power Hour in room 162. We will discuss our plans for the upcoming year. Active Minds is working towards changing the conversation about mental health. All are welcome!

Come join Volunteer Club in the counselor's office next Monday, Sept 16th during the 1st shift of power hour! We are open to everyone with a desire to help others. Who we are: Volunteer Club is a group of students who are passionate about connecting with their community and making it a better place. What we do: Volunteer Club meets once a week during Power Hour to brainstorm ways we can give back to our community. In addition, we volunteer our time outside of class by participating in community service projects, collecting donations for people in need, and being involved in other opportunities that may arise. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Gardner or Yunseo Ki for more information.

A representative from Coe College will be here TODAY at 1:15 to speak with interested students. Also, a representative from University of Chicago will be here Monday, Sept. 16 at 2:20. Interested students should sign up through Schoology or in the Counseling office.

REMINDERS: Did you know that 80% of LGBTQ teens report severe isolation in high school? SAGA hopes to help change that! Standing for Sexuality And Gender Acceptance, we aim to create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for all. LGBTQ students, allies, and staff members are invited to join us in room 106 during Power Hour on Thursday, September 12th for our first meeting of the year.

This week is National Suicide Prevention Week. Please see your class schoology page for the crisis number to call, chat or text. Take a minute to add this number to your phone in case your or a friend or family member need it.
