“Imagine the Amazing with UnityPoint Health. Education is an essential part of living well and being well, and schools are at the heart of our communities. That's why we're launching a back-to-school contest to bring big dreams to life. The winning school will win $25,000 to enhance the well-being of students, teachers and/or learning environments. Ten runner-up schools will win $1,000 to invest in a health and wellness need at their school. Every school has a need and every kid has a dream. UnityPoint Health is committed to investing in both to create a brighter tomorrow. Vote for your school September 17-30.”

Today was a Farm to School Day! Peppers were served in Kindergarten, 1st, 4th and 6th grades. Please see the handout for information on what your student learned.

PALS Meeting - here are our notes from our PALS meeting on Monday, September 10th. Our next meeting is Monday, October 8th. Please join us and bring a friend!

This is a friendly reminder that our students should arrive at Lincoln after 8:30 AM. Our staff are not on duty before this time and we want to be sure our students are safe! In addition, please make sure that you follow the dismissal plans you shared with staff at Backpack Night. Our staff appreciate the chance to prepare for the next day when our students are picked up in a timely manner. Last, if you choose to allow your students to play on the playground after dismissal, they should be under your direct supervision. This ensures that all students are safe! Thank you!

2018 Cedar Falls Football Games in the UNI-Dome - Elementary students attending Cedar Falls football games in the UNI-Dome are expected to sit with their parent/guardian or an adult who is supervising them.  Elementary students should not be roaming the UNI-Dome unsupervised.

Would your family benefit from the Backpack Program? Lincoln is partnering with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank to provide the BackPack Program to students during the 2018-19 school year. The BackPack Program is a FREE program that provides kid-friendly, non-perishable food for students most in need, to eat over the weekends and breaks when school meals are not available and there may be little or no food to eat.

Please carefully consider your family's economic status and determine if this program is something needed by your child(ren). If the BackPack program is something your family could depend on, please complete the attached registration form and return it with your student to school. Only one registration form needs to be completed to include all of the students in your home, and can be given to your child's teacher or the front office. If you are interested in the program, but would like us to send the registration form home with your child, please contact Mrs. Jacobsen. Delivery will begin at the end of September, but I can add children at any time. Along with this registration form, there is a letter included with more detailed information. Please contact Mrs. Jacobsen if you have further questions or are interested in joining.
