All City Band Was Brilliant!

All City Band was brilliant! We enjoyed hearing the debut performance of our 5th grade students as well as the growth demonstrated by our 6th grade band students last night! We thank our families for their support of practice at home as well as helping our students arrive at early morning practice. Last, thanks to Mrs. Byersdorfer for leading our Northside Band including students from North Cedar, Hansen and Lincoln!

Science+olympiad+team Holmes Junior High

Science Olympiad Team Places at State Competition

On April 7th Holmes Junior High grabbed both the 2nd place trophy and a 5th place finish in the Iowa Science Olympiad. The contest was held at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This was only the second time in its 18 year history that the Holmes Science Club has entered two teams in the Olympiad. Road+less+traveled Holmes Junior High

Road Less Traveled

On April 12th Holmes Jr. High sent a delegation of 39 young women in 9th Grade Physical Science to the Taking the Road Less Traveled conference on the Iowa State Campus in Ames, Iowa. The conference is a program promoting women in science, technology, engineering, and math careers.
