Please carefully read this letter outlining Safety Drills at Lincoln, including when we deliver safety lessons and practice our off site evacuation drills the week of October 23rd as well as our Dangerous Intruder drill on November 3rd. I have also attached to letter to this message.


We enjoyed Kale Day today! All Lincoln students had a visit from the Farm to School Program during snack time today.  See the attached handout about what they learned and for follow-up activities with your student.

Do you have a student who is interested in joining Boy Scouts? Pack 179 is having a Game Night on October 26th at 6:30 in our Cafeteria to encourage new members. Please join them!

Weather-Related Announcements - The contact information we have in Power School is the same information that our weather-related announcements will pull from. Please ensure your Power School information is accurate, so you receive the necessary weather related alerts.


Expanding Your Horizons STEM Opportunity: Girls in grades 5-8, consider attending the Expanding Your Horizons Conference to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math opportunities. The conference is scheduled for Saturday, November 11 at UNI and includes many STEM related workshops and an opportunity to view the movie "Dream Big". Visit the following website to learn more and register. Cost is $10 and includes lunch.

 

Parent Leader In Me Session - Leader Valley will be hosting a 7 Habits Parent Session on Wednesday, October 25, from 6:30-8:00 at Hawkeye Community College in Tama Hall room 102.  There will be a brief overview of Leader in Me and the 7 habits with a focus on the Private Victory.  There will be another session in the spring (Feb) that will focus on the Public Victory. Participants need to be pre-registered as space is limited.  Feel free to sign up using this link!


Our neighbors and business partners, First United Methodist Church, are holding a Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 25th from 6:00-7:15! Join us at First United Methodist church for TRUNK – OR-TREAT!  The night will kick off with a home style Barbeque dinner at 5:00pm in the Gathering Place. After dinner everyone will begin Trunk-or Treat! We invite all to dress up in family appropriate costumes to celebrate Halloween at First. Kids will walk to trunk to trunk receiving candy and treats. Continue the fun by enjoying crafts, S’mores and Hot Chocolate.
