PEET JUNIOR HIGH DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS


Today is Monday, October 16th, an A day.


7th Grade Girls Basketball players: don't forget today is your first day of practice. You will meet in the new gym right after school to have practice jerseys passed out.


For any 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball this season, please email Coach Suiter and let him know you would like to sign up!


Any boys interested in 9th grade basketball, please sign up in the office. Coach Jennings is also looking for two managers for the season. Please see him for more information.


7th & 8th grade boys wrestling will start practice today. Any boys interested should meet in the locker room after school. Practice will go until 5PM.


A reminder to all 9th Grade Football Players: We will turn in football gear tonight after school and have our Pizza Party here at Peet. If you have any questions, see Coach Striegel.


Congrats to the 7th and 8th grade girls cross country team on their phenomenal running at the state meet in Ankeny on Saturday! The 7th grade girls earned 4th place as a team. Athletes representing the 7th grade team were Sofia Gallardo, Dublin McGrane, and Brynlee Walker. The 8th grade girls are the 2023 4A state champions, with Charlee Gall placing 1st and Olivia Leehey placing 8th out of 174 runners. Jacqueline Ebensberger also represented the 8th grade team. Go Tigers!


In top sporting news across the state, the 7th & 8th Grade Boys Cross Country team racked up impressive results at the State Cross Country Championships! Peet 8th Grader Jace Hudson ran a lifetime PR of 11:14 and finished 3rd overall. The boys 7th grade team finished as State Runner Ups, 2nd Place Overall Team. Their entire scoring top 5 finished in the top 25 with Holmes 7th grader Caleb Tjaden in 22nd, and Peet 7th graders Grant Backstrom in 19th, Will Henkel in 18th, Matthew Brodahl in 3rd, and Jeremy Gall in 2nd. All finished with new lifetime PRs led by Jeremy Gall in 11:26. Congratulations to all the 24 Jr. High Boys who raced at the State Meet this last Saturday. GO TIGERS!!!
