Student Life Holmes Junior High

The Variety Show Theme Reveal will be on Tuesday, October 17 during Tiger Time. Anyone who is interested in the Variety Show should check in with their Tiger Time teacher, then go to the choir room. The theme reveal will take less than 10 minutes, then you will go to your requested locations or back to your Tiger Time. All are welcome!

This is just a reminder to all 9th Grade Football Players.  We will turn in all the rest of our football gear tonight after school and then we will have our Pizza Party afterwards at Peet.  If you have any questions contact Coach Striegel.

In top sporting news across the state, the Cedar Falls Jr. High Boys Cross Country team racked up impressive results at the State Cross Country Championships!  Pete 8th Grader, Jace Hudson ran to a lifetime PR of 11:14 and finished 3rd over-all.  The boys 7th grade team finished as State Runner Ups, 2nd Place Over-all Team.  Their entire, scoring top 5 finished in the top 25 with Holmes 7th grader Caleb Tjaden in 22nd, and Pete 7th graders, Grant Backstrom in 19th, Will Henkel in 18th, Matthew Brodahl in 3rd, and Jeremy Gall in 2nd.  All finished with new lifetime PRs led by Jeremy Gall in 11:26.  Congratulations to all the 24 Jr. High Boys who raced at the State Meet this last Saturday.  GO TIGERS!!!

The next Know Your Constitution Program work day will be held on Tuesday during Tiger Time in Mr. Kuker's room. See Mr. Kuker with any questions.

Congrats to the 7th and 8th grade girls cross country team on their phenomenal running at the state meet in Ankeny on Saturday! The 7th grade girls earned 4th place as a team, with Shai Meyer placing 5th place out of 119 runners. Lily Garvin, Nina Woods, Olivia Tink, Braelyn Stoppel, and Olivia Schmitz also represented the 7th grade team. And, the 8th grade girls are the 2023 4A state champions, with Kate Tomlyanovich placing 9th and Emma Hahn placing 10th out of 174 runners. Ainsley Searfoss, Esther Tink, Jenna Hannam, Leah Freiberg, and Piper Block also represented the 8th grade team. Go Tigers!

Art club is starting this Thursday after school. We will meet in Mrs. Klammer's room (35A). Work on your own art projects or come learn how to use new art materials. There is no need to sign up ahead of time.

There will not be any Nintendo Club taking place tomorrow during ECHOES.
