Happy Earth Week! This week, we will be sharing an environmental tip for each day of the week. Today’s letter is “E” for energy usage. Energy is used in every aspect of our lives and we should always be thinking of ways to reduce energy consumption. So, have you considered turning your thermostat down in the winter or up in the summer? Could you make the switch to using LED lighting throughout your house or could you make sure all lights and appliances are turned off when not in use? By saving energy, you are not only helping to lower demand for coal, oil and natural gas but you will also keep prices lower and money in your pocket.
Hey Cedar Falls students, do you need help filling up that college application, want more options for learning leadership, or plain bored of your regular activity routine? The Waterloo East-High JROTC Battalion is now recruiting cadets from Cedar Falls. For more information, Cedar Falls Cadet Private First Class Haboon will hold an informational presentation on Tuesday after school at 3:30 pm in the high school auditorium. Along with East High battalion staff, heads of Alpha company as well as the army instructor Master Sergeant Stoen.
Lights, Camera, AFTER PROM! Tickets for After Prom at the UNI WRC will be available starting Monday, April 29 during Power Hour as well as after school in the auditorium lobby. The cost of tickets is $10.00. Ticket sales will continue daily before school, during Power Hour, and after school through May 10. Forms of payments accepted include cash or a check written out to "Parents Who Care". After Prom activities include: Inflatables, music bingo, karaoke, caricature artist, photo booth, rock climbing, swimming, volleyball, basketball and more...along with snacks from Big Acai, Here's What's Poppin, & Caseys! A reminder that the final day to order and pay for a 2023-2024 yearbook is this Friday, April 26, 2024. The cost is $65.00 and payment can be made in the main office. Check your PowerSchool Balance page or contact Mrs. Steffy to see if you have purchased a yearbook.

Cedar Falls DECA Night at Chick-fil-A in Waterloo will be tomorrow, Tuesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm! Please support DECA by purchasing food on your mobile app. You must also use the code CFDECA. You can also spin the wheel for $1 to earn great food prizes.

Another reminder: 8 school days is what is left to serve detentions and pay Power School fines and fees by the May 1 deadline if you want to purchase a prom ticket or participate in commencement!
Follow the Tigers: Varsity Girls' Tennis began at 9:30 am at Prairie Ridge Middle School; JV Girls' Golf will begin at 3:15 pm; JV Boys' Tennis will begin at 4:00 pm at Waverly Shell Rock High School; Varsity Girls' Soccer will begin at 4:15 pm, followed by the JV 1 at 5:45 pm, followed by the JV 2 at 7:00 pm John Adams Middle School in Mason City; JV and JV 2 Boys' Soccer will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by the Varsity at 6:45 pm at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex; The All City Band Festival will begin at 6:00 pm at CFHS.
