Science Donation

Dear Veridian Credit Union,

Thank you for your recent donation of $100.00 in pennies!  As our science curriculum is changing to more hands on project based student learning we are finding our needs for materials are growing.

Pennies believe it or not are very versatile in science.  The great thing is that they are reusable and will be used at both our junior highs in all grade levels of science for the following labs/activities.

• Testing to see how weight of cars can affect speed and energy
• Using pennies as weights in engineering clay boats
• Flipping them heads/tails for radioactive decay models in isotopes
• As weights in building seismic safe structure in earthquakes.
