Peet Junior High, coming this Monday is a brand new initiative, the Water Project! Imagine what your life would be like if you woke up tomorrow morning and found there was no water coming into your home. What would you do? You’d probably get a few gallons of bottled water, and feel a bit grungy and inconvenienced until the water came back on. Other than that, things would really be OK. But what if the water never came back on? What if the stores ran out of bottled water? What if the nearest drainage ditch became the only place we could get any water at all? Would you begin to worry about your health? There are people living with exactly this problem all over the world. And we can help. For the next two weeks starting Jan. 7th, we urge you to participate in the Water Challenge.

When participating in the Water Challenge, you’ll be giving up all drinks but water for two weeks. During these two weeks you will be asked to drink nothing but water and donate any money you save on other drinks to the water project. An example of this would be, a milk at lunch costs $0.50. If you get a milk everyday that would be $0.50 a day that you could donate to the water project. Another example would be if you buy a drink from a vending machine. That’s another $1.50-$2.00 that you could donate to the water project. Other than this you could donate any amount of money to help families and communities in Africa! Additionally, if you participate in the Water Challenge you get a free wristband related to the water project. Join us in creating a change for many people across the globe! Everyone may fill out the google form in Schoology now, they can be found in your grade level groups.  Please fill it out even if you are not participating we still would like to have that information.

Today’s lunch will be: Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken Parmesan Sandwich, Chicken Fajita Salad, Baked Beans, Veggie Bar, and Peaches.

Happy birthday today to: Hannah Batterson!

Happy birthday this weekend to: Connor McCartan!
