Band Students: Today is Day Six for band lesson.

The 9th Grade volleyball team got off to a slow start yesterday against Peet, but turned it around in the following games taking home the win with 4 games to 1.

The Holmes 7th grade volleyball team had a riveting afternoon yesterday with all six teams picking up victories over Hoover. Great job girls!

To culminate our look at the U.S. Constitution, here is some insight from our 16th president Abraham Lincoln:

“Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people.”

The Holmes Tiger 7th grade football team got back to their winning ways Thursday by defeating the Peet Tigers, 18-0. A seesaw battle ensued to start the game, as both teams were unable to score during the first half of play. The second half saw the Holmes Tigers explode offensively as Gerry Norton had a strong sweep play in the 3rd period that yielded 6 points. Holmes then opened the 4th quarter with a double pass from Kolton Siems to Rylan Hurley for the score. Kane Shimp then capped the scoring for the Tigers when he rumbled over 40 yards for a score. The Tigers will have their final home game of the season next Tuesday when Hoover comes to town.

Homecoming for the Cedar Falls tigers is next week Sept 24th-30th.  This years theme is Welcome to the Jungle.
